Emergency Engineered Solutions is offering a book of plans to build a safe, reasonably priced (about $5,000 or less) training structure that:
- Provides realistic class-A burns.
- Achieves fire behavior and interior conditions perfectly suited to training in Positive Pressure Attack and other interior fire operations.
- Easy to build: Requires basic construction skills and uses pre-built wall panels in five different patterns
- Can sustain in the neighborhood of 40 burns (depends on factors such as fire intensity, weather, etc.)
- Has a reusable framework: After burns, sheetrock is removed from the framework and discarded, and the framework is disassembled for storage and reuse for more training later
Developed by Kriss Garcia of the Salt Lake City Fire Department, Tooele (Utah) Fire Department and Emergency Engineered Solutions.
Emergency Engineered Solutions is offering an 11x17 book that includes step-by-step instructions, a materials list and diagrams. These plans are for a structure that simulates a simple, 24-foot x 32-foot, single family dwelling.
